Taxonomy
Pinus vulcaniamniensis was named by Ellenberger (1970). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Ralikhomo tracksite (zone C/3), which is in a Pliensbachian fluvial volcaniclastic in the Barkly East Formation of Lesotho.
