Elsornis keni
Taxonomy
Elsornis keni was named by Chiappe et al. (2007). Its type specimen is MPD-b 100/201, a partial skeleton (partially articulated specimen including both wings and most of the axial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tugrikin Shire V [HMNS-GIN], which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the Djadokhta Formation of Mongolia. It is the type species of Elsornis.
