Taxonomy
Entogonites was named by Kittl (1904) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Tetragonites grimmeri. It is the type genus of Entogonitidae.
It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Entogonitidae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009), Korn and Sudar (2010), Klug et al. (2016), Korn and Sudar (2016).
