Fletcherithyris biundata

Taxonomy
Atrypa biundata was named by M'Coy (1847). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Black Head, Gerringong (W.B. Clarke coll), which is in a Wordian marine sandstone in the Gerringong Formation of Australia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Terebratula amygdala by Campbell (1965); it was recombined as Fletcherithyris biundata by Waterhouse (1982), Waterhouse (1987), Clarke (1987) and Lee et al. (2023).

J. B. Waterhouse 1987Medium-sized shells with broadly sinuate or sulciplicate anterior commissure, and low anterior ventral fold and dorsal sulcus in many specimens. Septalium high and only 0.18 to 0.22 of length of valve. Crural points very high.
