Taxonomy
Spiriferellina lacunosa was named by Waterhouse (1968). Its type specimen is NZGS BR 1392, a valve (Dorsal valve, internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is GS6071, Letham Burn (D44/f9622), which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Mangarewa Formation of New Zealand.
