Eocathayornis walkeri
Taxonomy
Eocathayornis walkeri was named by Zhou (2002). Its type specimen is IVPP V10916, a partial skeleton (part and counterpart of a skull, vertebrae, pair of complete forelimbs and coracoids, scapulae, sternum and rib fragments), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Beishan Quarry (Upper Shale Layer), which is in an Aptian lacustrine shale in the Jiufotang Formation of China. It is the type species of Eocathayornis.
