Taxonomy
Juresanites was named by Maximova (1940) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse-l P Sakm-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Juresanites primitivus.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Metalegoceratidae by Korn (2006); and to Metalegoceratinae by Leonova (2002), Furnish et al. (2009).
