Sanguinolites hekitoensis
Taxonomy
Sanguinolites hekitoensis was named by Hoare (2007). Its type specimen is OSU 52491, a shell (left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maxville Stone Co. quarry, west side of Ohio Rte. 668, ~1.1 km N Maxville, which is in a Chesterian/Brigantian carbonate limestone/shale in the Maxville Limestone Formation of Ohio.
