Taxonomy
Lobotornoceras was named by Schindewolf (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-l D Fras-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tornoceratinae by Korn and Klug (2002), Korn (2006), Bockwinkel et al. (2013), Bockwinkel et al. (2013), Söte et al. (2021).
