Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria scitula was named by Meek and Worthen (1860). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Yvania scitula by Plummer and Hornberger (1935); it was recombined as Glyptotomaria (Dictyotomaria) scitula by Sturgeon (1964), Sturgeon (1964), Yochelson and Saunders (1967), Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Dictyotomaria scitula by Knight (1945), Termier and Termier (1977), Wagner (2023).
