It was assigned to Unenlagiidae by Currie and Paulina Carabajal (2012), Agnolin et al. (2012) and Novas et al. (2013); to Dromaeosauridae by Pei et al. (2014); and to Unenlagiinae by Novas et al. (2008), Longrich and Currie (2009), Ezcurra (2009), Goianechini and Apesteguía (2011), Gianechini et al. (2011), Apesteguía et al. (2011), Prieto-Marquez et al. (2012), Williamson and Brusatte (2014), Gianechini et al. (2017) and Jasinski et al. (2020).
