Teratophon spinigenis
Taxonomy
Thelegnathus spinigenis was named by Gow (1977). Its type specimen is BP/1/4299, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lemoenfontein 44, Rouxville District, which is in an Anisian dry floodplain siliciclastic in the Burgersdorp Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Teratophon.
It was recombined as Teratophon spinigenis by Modesto and Damiani (2003).
