Taxonomy
Ananias gibber was named by Chronic (1952). Its type specimen is Mus N. Ariz G2.2968, a partial shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Bottomless Pits, Bed 2, Kaibab Formation, Walnut Canyon, which is in a Roadian shallow subtidal limestone in the Kaibab Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Glabrocingulum gibber by Sloan (1955); it was recombined as Glabrocingulum (Glabrocingulum) gibber by Yochelson and Saunders (1967).
