Taxonomy

Penniretepora flexistriata was named by Richards (1959). Its type specimen is KUMIP 11174B2 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Homestead Road, 1.7 miles E of Highway K99, Riley County, which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone in the Wreford Formation of Kansas.
