Taxonomy
Kellnerites was named by Arthaber (1912) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Popinites by Spath (1934).

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Ceratitidae by Brack and Rieber (1993), Tongtherm et al. (2016); and to Paraceratitinae by Tozer (1981), Balini (1994), Vörös (2018).
