Taxonomy
Muensterites was named by Mojsisovics (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Arpadites ectodus.

It was assigned to Arpaditidae by Spath (1951); to Trachyceratidae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Anolcitinae by Mietto and Manfrin (2008); and to Trachyceratinae by Tozer (1994) and Urlichs (2017).
