Neocladiscites was named by Popov (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Neocladiscites taskanensis.
It was assigned to Cladiscitidae by Tozer (1981); to Procladiscitinae by Gamsjäger (1982); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
