Phocavis maritimus
Taxonomy
Phocavis maritimus was named by Goedert (1988). Its type specimen is LACM 123897, a limb element (tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM Loc. 5060 - Beaver Creek [Keasey Fm], which is in a Priabonian basinal (siliceous) horizon in the Keasey Formation of Oregon.
