Taxonomy
Thyrohyrax domorictus was named by Meyer (1973). Its type specimen is CGM 40001, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry M (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
