Maelestes gobiensis
Taxonomy
Maelestes gobiensis was named by Wible et al. (2007). Its type specimen is PSS-MAE 607, a partial skeleton (incomplete skull, left mandible, atlas, axis, vertebrae, ribs, forelimb, and astragalus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Maelestes type locality, Ukhaa Tolgod, which is in a Campanian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Djadokhta Formation of Mongolia.
