Taxonomy
Ambitoides orientalis was named by Shigeta and Zakharov (2009). Its type specimen is NSM P23188 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Abrek Bay AB1014, which is in a Dienerian submarine fan sandstone in the Zhitkov Formation of the Russian Federation.
