| B. M. Waggoner and M. R. Langer 1993 | Probably chitinous perisarc preserved as dark orange-brown (presumably organic) impression. Anastomosing hydrorhizae form a holdfast. Growth pattern sympodial, possibly creeping; fascicled hydrocaulus 0,25-0,5 mm in diameter; individual stems and hydrorhizae 0,1-0,2 mm in diameter. Many branches behind the terminal hydrothecae terminate abruptly and lack hydrothecae; these arepresumed to have broken off or regressed. Pedicels relatively short; no apparent annulation. Hydrothecae deep, elongated, campanulate, 0,6-1,5 mm; no true diaphragm indicated, but thickening and constriction at base of hydrotheca. Crenulate ornamentation around hydrothecal rim, turning into ridges running down hydrothecal wall; 4-5 crenulations preserved per hydrotheca. No indentifiable gonangia preserved. |
