Taxonomy
Anthocyrtidium odontatum was named by O'Conner (1994). Its type specimen is R65, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Q08/f555, Matakohe Quarry [Mahurangi Limestone], which is in an Oligocene marine limestone in the Mahurangi Limestone Formation of New Zealand.
