M.-Z. Won and W. J. Iams 2002Numerous spicules densely interlocked and fused, forming a very compact and thick hollow spherical shell. Spicules joined by fusion of crossed rays and also by sharing rays between neighboring spicules. Outwardly directed rays well developed in all directions; inwardly directed rays arranged parallel or subparallel to the shell wall or reduced.
