Squillites spinosus
Taxonomy
Squillites spinosus was named by Scott (1938). Its type specimen is University of Illinois no. X-1219, an exoskeleton (thorax, abdomen, uropods, second antennae, and carapace), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is South of Heath, which is in a Chesterian marine shale in the Heath Shale Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Squillites.
