Taxonomy
Raja harrisae was named by Ward (1984). Its type specimen is NHMUK P.61504, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Burnham on Crouch, which is in a Ypresian marine claystone in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
