Heterotorpedo fowleri
Taxonomy
Heterotorpedo fowleri was named by Ward (1983). Its type specimen is NHMUK P.61157, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Wittering foreshore (bed E11), which is in a Lutetian marginal marine claystone in the Marsh Farm Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Heterotorpedo.
