Ctenochasma elegans

Taxonomy
Pterodactylus elegans was named by Wagner (1861). Its type specimen is BSPG 1875.XIV.501 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Eichstätt [Solnhofener Plattenkalk], which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofener Plattenkalk Formation of Germany.

It was recombined as Ctenochasma elegans by Jouve (2004), Bennett (2007), Bennett (2013) and Andres et al. (2014).
