Germanodactylus cristatus
Taxonomy
Pterodactylus cristatus was named by Wiman (1925). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Eichstätt [Solnhofener Plattenkalk], which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofener Plattenkalk Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Germanodactylus.
It was recombined as Germanodactylus cristatus by Young (1964), Unwin (2003), Bennett (2006) and Andres et al. (2014).
