Anhanguera piscator
Taxonomy
Anhanguera piscator was named by Kellner and Tomida (2000). Its type specimen is NSM-PV 19892, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Santana do Cariri (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Tropeognathus robustus by Unwin (2002); it was recombined as Coloborhynchus piscator by Veldmeijer (2003) and Veldmeijer et al. (2006); it was synonymized subjectively with Coloborhynchus robustus by Frey et al. (2003) and Martill and Unwin (2011).
