Taxonomy

Gordonia traquairi was named by Newton (1893). It is a mold. Its type locality is Cutties Hillock Millstone Quarry, which is in a Changhsingian fluvial sandstone in the Cutties Hillock Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Dicynodon traquairi by King (1988).

It was synonymized subjectively with Gordonia traquairi by King (1988).
Gordonia duffiana was named by Newton (1893). Its type specimen is ELGNM 1978.559, a partial skeleton, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Cutties Hillock Millstone Quarry, which is in a Changhsingian fluvial sandstone in the Cutties Hillock Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Gordonia traquairi by King (1988).
Gordonia juddiana was named by Newton (1893). It is a mold. Its type locality is Cutties Hillock Millstone Quarry, which is in a Changhsingian fluvial sandstone in the Cutties Hillock Sandstone Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Gordonia traquairi by King (1988).
