Taxonomy
Poirieria (Panamurex) mauryae was named by Vokes (1970). Its type specimen is USNM 646431, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 458 - Farley Creek, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
