Poirieria (Panamurex) clarksvillensis
Taxonomy
Muricidea clarksvillensis was named by Mansfield (1937). Its type specimen is USNM 496424, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 73 - "Dripping Springs" [Jackson Bluff Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal sandstone in the Jackson Bluff Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Poirieria (Panamurex) clarksvillensis by Vokes (1970).
