Dermomurex (Dermomurex) engonatus

Taxonomy
Trophon (Aspella) engonatus was named by Dall (1892) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Pleistocene; Florida. TYPE SPECIMEN: Lectotype.]. Its type specimen is USNM 113273, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 539b - Shell Creek [Caloosahatchee Fm], which is in a Pleistocene coastal marl in the Caloosahatchee Formation of Florida.

It was recombined as Aspella (Aspella) engonata by Olsson and Harbison (1953); it was recombined as Dermomurex (Dermomurex) engonatus by Vokes (1975).
