Taxonomy
Hastigerina was named by Murray (1876) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-u R, was named in Murray (1876) by Thomson, however Thomson never published this]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Globigerininae by Cushman (1927); to Globorotaliidae by Snyder et al. (1983); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
