Taxonomy
Murexiella (Murexiella) veracruzana was named by Vokes (1968). Its type specimen is USNM 645894, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 638 - Coatzacoalcos [Agueguexquite Fm], which is in a Pliocene coastal claystone in the Agueguexquite Formation of Mexico.
