Taxonomy
Nuculoma was named by Cossmann (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-u K Berr-u Sepkoski's reference number: 93,663]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Nucula (Nuculoma) by Le Renard (1993).

It was assigned to Nucula by Le Renard (1993); to Nuculoida by Sepkoski (2002); to Nuculominae by Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Nuculidae by Vokes (1980), Wienrich (1999), Mikkelsen (2006), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
