Taxonomy
Amuria macfarlanei was named by Carter et al. (1998). Its type locality is S3-17-87-CNA-KUD-14, Kunga Island, which is in a Sinemurian basinal (siliciclastic) limestone/siltstone in the Sandilands Formation of Canada.
