Anhanguera santanae

Taxonomy
Araripesaurus santanae was named by Wellnhofer (1985). Its type specimen is BSP 1982 I 90, a partial skeleton (Partial skull and forelimb material), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.

It was recombined as Anhanguera santanae by Wellnhofer (1991), Kellner and Tomida (2000), Unwin (2003), Andres et al. (2014), Headden and Campos (2014) and Vila Nova et al. (2014).
