Anhanguera araripensis
Taxonomy
Santanadactylus araripensis was named by Wellnhofer (1985). Its type specimen is BSP 1982 I 89, a partial skeleton (Partial skull and postcranial material), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chapada do Araripe [Romualdo Fm.] (general), which is in an Aptian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal shale in the Romualdo Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Coloborhynchus araripensis by Veldmeijer (2003), Veldmeijer et al. (2006); it was recombined as Anhanguera araripensis by Kellner and Tomida (2000), Rodrigues and Kellner (2008), Andres et al. (2014).
