Taxonomy
Entolioides was named by Allasinaz (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr l Tr Nori-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1227]. It is not extant. Its type is Pecten zitteli.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); to Entolioidesinae by Bouchet et al. (2010); and to Entoliidae by Newell and Boyd (1995), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
