Taxonomy
Eopecten was named by Douvillé (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u K Albi Sepkoski's reference number: 674]. It is not extant. Its type is Hinnites tuberculatus.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pectinidae by Vokes (1980), Scholz et al. (2008), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
