Taxonomy
Lorancahyus daamsi was named by Pickford and Morales (1998). Its type specimen is MOH 16, a mandible (left mandible with M/2-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Moheda, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Spain.
