Shenqiornis mengi
Taxonomy
Shenqiornis mengi was named by Wang et al. (2010). Its type specimen is DNHM D2950, a skeleton (nearly complete and largely articulated skeleton with carbonized feather traces), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Shenjitu (Qiaotou Formation), which is in a Jurassic/Barremian terrestrial sandstone in the Qiaotou Formation of China. It is the type species of Shenqiornis.
