It was reranked as Pecten (Hinnites) by Arnold (1906), Eldridge and Arnold (1907), Willett (1937).

It was assigned to Pecten by Arnold (1906), Eldridge and Arnold (1907), Willett (1937); to Pectinidae by Adegoke (1969), Marasti (1973), Moore (1984); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hinnitinae by Bouchet et al. (2010).
