Auricullina was named by Vasil’yeva (1998). Its type is Auricullina papulosa.

It was assigned to Helcionellidae by Parkhaev (2006).

P. Yu. Parkhaev 2006Shell cap-shaped, depressed, relatively wide. Apex pointed, shifted back beyond posterior apertural margin, and slightly bent downwards. Anterior field convex, lateral fields slightly convex or flattened, posterior field short and slightly concave. Aperture simple, without sinus, egg-shaped, with widely rounded anterior and extended posterior margins. Exterior shell ornamentation unknown. Internal mold covered by small papillae or cylindrical granules.
