Arthropterygius chrisorum
Taxonomy
Ophthalmosaurus chrisorum was named by Russell (1993) [species originally referred to Ophthalmosaurus by Russel (1993)]. Its type specimen is NMC 40608, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cape Grassy, Melville Island ichthyosaur, which is in an Oxfordian/Kimmeridgian marine /sandstone in the Ringnes Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Arthropterygius chrisorum by Maxwell (2010), Fischer et al. (2013), Arkhangelsky and Zverkov (2014).
