Taxonomy
Rugivestis arctica was named by Shi and Waterhouse (1996). Its type specimen is GSC 96976, a valve (Ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is JBW109, Ettrain Creek, which is in a Sakmarian marine sandstone in the Jungle Creek Formation of Canada.
