Taxonomy
Microdiscus bellimarginatus was named by Shaler and Foerste (1888).

It was recombined as Eodiscus bellimarginatus by Raymond (1913) and Shaler et al. (1913); it was recombined as Eodiscus (Serrodiscus) bellimarginatus by Richter and Richter (1941); it was recombined as Serrodiscus bellimarginatus by Rasetti (1952), Lemke (2020).
