Kalamopsis was named by De Folin (1883) [Sepkoski's age data: K Sant R Sepkoski's reference number: 1051]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Aschemonellinae by Cushman (1927); to Aschemocellidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1988); to Hormosinidae by Morlotti (1988); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
